Borehole sealing sleeves for universal Hawlinger are used for drilling cement-coated pipes. There is no need for time-consuming removal of the cement sheathing in the area of the drilling or re-insulation.
The borehole sealing sleeve is constructed in two parts, with the screw sleeve with rubber ring in the borehole sealing against the cast iron pipe wall and the outer sleeve with O-ring sealing in the fitting. When screwing the screw sleeve to the outer sleeve, the rubber ring is crushed and expanded radially in the bore.
Pigging of the main line is only possible to a limited extent with the sleeve inserted (slight protrusion into the pipe).
Borehole sealing sleeves can only be used with universal Hawlingers with ZAK46 socket or IG 1 1/2".
