The air valve set consists of a PE shaft with a shut-off device and an an air valve. Due to its compact design the air valve set replaces complex and high-maintenance manhole constructions. All maintenance work can be carried out from ground level, thus avoiding all the dangers possibly related with the entering of manholes. The installation of a drain packing of coarse gravel from ground level to the pipeline is recommended. When installed in ground water, the drain-off fitting at the outlet shall be closed.
The air valve with unique roll-on membrane is perfectly suitable to release major amounts of air under operating pressure. The valve seat is not in contact with the medium. The air valve operates continuously from 0 to 16 bar, perfectly sealing even when unpressurized. The sealing principle with roll-on membrane has a shock-absorbing effect.
The air valve is provided with two flushing ports pulled up to the bottom edge of the plastic covering. By connecting a flushing hose, minor dirt can be flushed out of of the air valve easily and quickly. In case of major dirt the air valve can be dismantled for maintenance purposes quite easily via a bayonet lock

Please note: air valves contain compressed air. Prior to any maintenance work air valves shall be put out of operation and depressurized via a ball valve!
