The air valve set consists of a shaft with a shut-off device and an air valve. Due to its compact design the air valve set replaces complex and high-maintenance manhole constructions. All maintenance work can be carried out from ground level, thus avoiding all the dangers possibly related with the entering of manholes. It is recommanded to install the drainage element (model no. 992SE) in combination to drainage backfill material.
The air valve with unique roll-on diaphragm technology is perfectly suitable for releasing greater amounts of air under operating pressure. The air valve operates continuously from 0 to 16 bar, perfectly sealing even when unpressurized. The sealing concept with roll-on diaphragm has an absorbing effect on water hammer. Due to the high volume of venting capacity this AV provides a reliable protection against vacuum damages.
Please note: air valves contain compressed air. Prior to any maintenance work air valves shall be put out of operation and depressurized!

The air valve set (standpipe, operating pipe) can be shortened on site by 100 mm at the marked points to adapt it to changed height conditions.
